Last week we initiated a sign language course for the children of San Isidro. Within just one week, the school of sign language LARA has taught the children how to count, spell and present themselves and their family members in sign language. We were really impressed with how much enthusiasm and especially how fast the kids learned how to speak in sign language! And there are several reasons why our partnership with LARA is good for the children:

Vacaciones Útiles
It’s summer vacation south of the equator, which means Intiwawa transforms from an after-school program to an AM summer camp. We are currently in the second full week of programming, and are very happy to share the classes and activities our volunteers have organized for Intiwawa’s summer students :).

On the Horizon: Proyecto T’anta
For most of it’s life, Intiwawa has focused its efforts and activities on the children of San Isidro. It is now our pleasure to announce a new project that will directly benefit every member of the family, no matter the age: a bakery in San Isidro!
